Just opened: A classy, sleek restaurant that looks like it has spilled out of the West End of London serving rich, luxurious fare that excites any meat and fish lover with just a mention.
On Friday the TB team were invited to celebrate a new arrival to Southend seafront. No this isn’t another bright-light noise-making arcade but a new tone and style of establishment to the area. Sat in a prime location next to the historical Kursaal building and opposite the main promenade, Bourgee is an inspiring new steak and lobster joint.
After a £1million transformation the business partners opened their doors to the press and celebs to show us what have to offer … and we weren’t disappointed. While rubbing shoulders with the likes of rugby player Thom Evans, singer Lisa Mafia and celeb chef Jean-Christophe Novelli, we supped Laurent Perrier champagne and ate our way through canapé-sized versions of the menu including lobster brioche, maple-glazed pork belly, steak and chips on a stick and the insanely addictive Mars bar cheesecakes.
Other stars on the night included TOWIE stars Harry Derbidge, Ferne McCann and Charlie Sims, radio presenter Sarah Cawood, models Pascal Craymer, Casey Batchelor, Alexis Smith and Emma Glover.
Tasting Britain will be heading back to Bourgee in the next few weeks to sample the full menu in all it’s glory, so we’ll let you know the full story then. In the meantime, if you like to try new places then we’d say you’re in for a good night with the team at Bourgee – fantastic staff and tasty, luxurious treats.
